Anti Dictator Tactics

Today's topic would be:

How To Dictate the Dictator himself

If you are under the category:
1.Kena dogspammed cr.lk
2.Kena sk loop until you hold the joystick with one hand and the other hand pointing middle finger at M Bison
3.Kena 99 seconds devil reverse and headstomp only
4.Teo st.hk and st.mk like a dog

Hopefully this post would help non bison players in this matchup.

Tips here:
1.Know the charge time. Most dictator players like to do lk scissor kick when they have enough charge. You can try neutral jump to punish.
2.If the dictator player is blindly spamming lk scissor kick, focus attack in the way that the you would absorb the second hit of the scissor kick and punish it.Alternatively, you can whiff the lk sk and punish with whatever shit you want.
3.Dictator's st.hk can be whiffed by low attacks like ryu cr.mk and slides.
4.Far psycho crusher crossup can be reversal uppercut.
5.If the dictator is spamming devil reverse, just keep moving him to the corner.
6.If you find it hard to punish ex psycho on reaction or your character cannot punish, stay within around 1/4 full screen from bison. If he just poh ex psycho at that distance,it is free punish for you.
7.Much characters in the roster benefits from playing the run away game from the dictator himself.
8.Unjumpable ultra can teo reversal uppercut and ultra..
9.Learn os against dictators.Make him tink again when he want to try to escape.

The Claw And The Dic

If you read the title,I bet you are thinking that this is another matchup guide.Today is just a comparison between the beautiful Vega and the cool M Bison.

Strengths of M Bison over Vega:
Stronger ground to air(example-cr.hp,st.hp,cr.hp)
Better specials(example-sk pure ownage)
Better escape options(example:ex psycho,teleport,ex devil reverse,ex headstomp)
Has 3 frame moves like cr.lk
No such things as bison cap or shoe drop and his walk speed becomes slower:D
Better forward dash

Strengths of Vega over M Bison:
Stronger air to air(example-air slam, jump hp,jump back mp)
Better jump frames
Better backdash
Punish standing tech better(example:cosmic heel to scarlet terror)
Cr.mp and st.lk owns.:D
KARA Slam
Better damage output(Not sure it is the same for ae)

I tink I will be concentrating more on Vega from now on.Vega I feel is more of a footsie char compared to Bison.Bison sk is too good and most dics are opting for the charge for sk than walking around landing a st.mk and st.hk.

Weaknesses

I going to talk about weaknesses which is one of the most sensitive topic in Singapore.People may share with you option select, frame traps, matchup knowledge and some other technical stuffs.

But the last thing people will share with you is their weaknesses. For a matter of time,I PERSONALLY also dun feel like sharing my own weaknesses with other people. The fear of losing to more opponents is haunting me but I realise that to improve, you need to conquer my weaknesses.

Some of my weaknesses are:
Doing too much cr.lk to tick throw(I realise that when I use M bison,I use too little of other moves to slam.)
If I have bar, opponent is cr.lp distance away from me,it is ex psycho almost 90% of the time.
My offense is really lacking behind.I realise my offense with M Bison is like a lorry trying to race a Ferrari...
If I realise that some of your moves may counter mine,I tend to not to use the move at all which results in me losing some of the matches

So basically I going to improve all these things and move to become a top player man.The other thing I have to solve is to have the mentality of a killer.(Determined to win by the most smelly tactics rather than be intimidated by the opponent.)Need to have the will win attitude than the may win attitude.

Anyway if anyone has advice for me,pls voice it out man.Seeking to improve.:D

Bison Vs SF4 Li Xiao Long

I ask some of the fellow bison players and most complained about this matchup, which includes myself.I tink ppl would kb me if I complained about a good matchup of Fei Long, which I beginning to feel why.

There is an advice that I would give to bison players against this half naked martial artist.
'Just block and punish.'

At the start,I tried to play the footsie game with Fei Long like how I do with Ryu and also Balrog. Then I realised a bit bo hua...

Examples:
Fei Long cr.hp can punish whiffed st.hk
Fei Long st.mp can beat st.mk
Fei Long has a cr.mp that has a startup of 4 and bison fastest mid range normals is 5 frames,cr.mk and st.hk/st.mk has 6 frames
Fei Long has a decent far.st.hp
Almost every whiffed normal including st.mk is a free rekka

Far Range
Not much things here but you will see a bison flying here and there like superman. Then Fei Long is trying hard to hit you out of your devil reverse or trying even harder not to get hit by it while moving..

Mid Range
Most favorable range in mid range I feel for bison is a max length of st.mk.St.mk at max range beat cr.mp and also cr.hp technically because fei long cr.hp has a startup of 8 frames.
The only thing problem here is Fei Long rekka.(Startup of 6 frames.)
Here a rough distance gauge of Fei Long:
Light rekka-1/5 full screen
Medium rekka-Between 1/5 and 1/4 fullscreen
Heavy rekka-1/4 fullscreen
If he do rekka in Bison st.mk distance(2 scenarios-you block it or whiff it),if you block it,it is free punish for you.(st.lk to st.hk or cr.lk to lk sk.)

Here the thing about rekka. Some ppl gamble their rekka even up to 3 hits...After 2nd hit of rekka, you can mash st.lk if you are bison and before he even do 3rd hit rekka,he will get hit by it..1st hit rekka not favorable to punish since some ppl gamble 2nd hit rekka and hit you when you try to punish it.

Sk is still good to throw around as long as it is not whiffed.Look for Fei Long doing FA to punish your scissor kicks.(Not hit by 1st hit of lk sk.)Max range cr.mk works wonder against rekka.:)

Close Range
I remembered getting hit by cr.lp in AE when doing my cr.lk.Not as favorable as last time since lockdown is weaker with more pushback from scissor kick and nerfed hitbox of cr.lk.Be careful of random flame kicks lol.

Tat's all man.One more thing is that I going to have two more tournaments. After that I would be retiring competitively for SF4..But this blog shall continues for now.:D

Trains Of Thoughts-Gameplan

I remembered when Momochi came to Singapore and play, everyone agreed that he was like giving you a free round and later murder you brutally in the next rounds to come.

Sadly,if Momochi was still here,I wish to ask him that,'What were the questions that he asked when he fought a stranger?'

Questions like:
'What is the player style of play?'(Turtling,Rushdown,Technical)
'What kind of tech punish does the player do?'(Standing tech punish, late crouch tech punish, early crouch tech punish)
'How does the player tech my slam?'
'What is the player's bad habit?'(Example:Doing too much whiffing cr.mk')
'Does the person do random uppercut?'

These were the questions which I guess he may ask himself.(Anyway these are random guesses...)To be honest, asking these questions in the actual match and solving them all is something that I hoped to achieve but I failed.>.<

But now the biggest problem for me now is being caught off in the battle of play to have fun or to play to win.

Imo...Play to win is those people who is serious all the time and looking to win by hook or by crook.Play to have fun is those people who are more or less relaxed even if they lose and normally they prefer to win cleanly.

To be honest, there are times that I know that guy scared of slam but ended up hesitating to abuse his weakness.Personally,I dun really like timing out the battle but I realize that to win, sometimes you need to wear down the opponent's patience to win.So basically in one part,I would want to play to have fun and the other part I would want to play to win.

The time to choose play to have fun and to play to win is ticking..(Especially when tournaments are coming..):(
